For reasons known only to Tesla, the underside of the arm rest lid has a PERFECT relief mold to fit such an item, and it never came, or comes, with any Tesla. So I bought one, to keep the cars paperwork safe and away from sources of damage. Such as, coffee spills, getting ripped or worse, being used as art paper with a magic marker by my great grand kids {age 10/07 yrs} So, buy one, for such small and limited use. Overall, I'm happy with this. It adds a small extra storage space that's not obvious, allowing you to hide things that will likely not be found if someone breaks into (or otherwise searches) your car. I haven't figured out anything of consequence to actually put in it, but it's still pretty cool.My only quibble is that, being relatively cheap plastic-on-plastic, with no additional materials interfacing between them, sliding it open and closed is a little rough. It smooths out with a bunch of openings/closings, but it's quality of movement still identifies it as a cheap object without strict manufacturing tolerances. All said, this is a very minor issue; it's not *difficult* to open and close, and it's not something you'll be likely to need to open and close on a regular basis.The installation is really easy, and the adhesive tape used seems very secure. I'm happy with the purchase, and have no qualms recommending it. Read more

Easy install. The flap just lost tightness after 6 months, so when you lift it up, it slides down, so even when you slid it up to close the center console, it opens and drops your stuff. Only held folded paper after that, like napkins. Then the sticky pads fell off completely after 2 years. Wasn't worth it. Read more

I got this for my 2024 Model 3. Installation took less than a minute, the included adhesive is quite strong. Once installed, I was able to fit the green slip in there, but it was a tight fit.In case the adhesive wears off, you get a second set. This means that if the box falls off I won't need to buy double sided tape :) Read more

Fits a 2021 Tesla model Y, good adhesion, uses the dead space under the arm rest nicely. You can't fit very much in there, but its handy for small items you want to keep out of sight and keep separate from the main centre console. A bit tricky to pull things out of it depending on the size. I often wrap stuff in something to prevent rattling and make removal easier. I would buy again. I waited until this item was reduced in price before purchasing.Update October 3, 2024 - the Gen 2 version does not seem as good. I have a new model y and the cheap carbon fiber look makes the “hidden storage box” stand out when you lift the center console.Will not buy Gen 2. Basenor got this update wrong. The previous Gen 1 was more discreet and matched the colour and texture of the underside of the center console. Read more
